Security Forces Kill 24 Terrorists in Two Operations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa

Security forces have killed 24 terrorists in two separate intelligence-based operations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), according to an official statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).

The military’s media wing confirmed that the operations were carried out on February 4 and 5, 2026, targeting militants linked with Fitna Al Khwarij, a term used by the state for members of the banned Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP).

Two Separate Intelligence-Based Operations

According to ISPR, the first intelligence-based operation was conducted in Orakzai District, where security forces targeted a reported terrorist hideout. During the operation, troops effectively engaged the militants, resulting in a fierce exchange of fire. As a result, 14 terrorists were killed.

In a second operation in Khyber District, security forces carried out another intelligence-driven raid, successfully neutralizing 10 terrorists.

Area Sanitization and Clearance Operations

Following both engagements, security forces launched sanitization and search operations in the surrounding areas to ensure that no remaining militant elements were present. Authorities stated that these clearance operations were conducted to secure the region and prevent any future threats.

Counter-Terrorism Strategy Continues

The ISPR emphasized that Pakistan’s security forces and law enforcement agencies remain fully committed to counter-terrorism efforts under the national security vision of “Azm-e-Istehkamâ€, approved by the Federal Apex Committee under the National Action Plan. The strategy aims to eliminate terrorism and dismantle foreign-sponsored militant networks operating in the country.

Earlier in January, security forces had also killed 11 terrorists in two separate intelligence-based operations in the province, highlighting the ongoing counter-terrorism campaign.

Rising Terrorism Concerns in Pakistan

Pakistan has experienced a noticeable increase in militant activity since the TTP ended its ceasefire agreement with the government in November 2022, vowing to intensify attacks across the country. Security reports indicate a continued rise in terrorism-related incidents and fatalities, particularly during 2025.

Authorities maintain that intelligence-based operations and coordinated counter-terrorism strategies remain essential to restoring peace and stability in affected regions.
